DAY 2
DAY 3
LOWER ZAMBEZI NATIONAL PARK
Morning and afternoon game activities.
In between game drives, exploration takes place on the Zambezi River in a powered motor-boat or under your own steam with a canoe. The river offers a rich variety of bird life and you may see the ubiquitous fish eagle or an osprey often taking larger fish from the river. Kingfishers are found in a myriad of shapes, colours and sizes. Crocodiles line the shore, pods of hippos wallow in the shallows and herds of elephants frequent the banks of the rivers in which they quench their thirst. The river is a focal point for the wildlife and much of your exploration of the park will focus on the river.

Known for its birdlife, the park, with the right climatic conditions, offers the possibility to view thousands of flamingoes feeding in the shallow alkaline lake.

Tarangire is most famous for its giant baobabs, a network of swamps, and large herds of elephants rumoured to be the largest population in Tanzania.
